Italy’s PM Giorgia Meloni’s High-Stakes Visit to Beijing After BRI Withdrawal | Times Now World

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has arrived in China for a crucial four-day visit aimed at resetting relations after Italy’s withdrawal from Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Meloni’s government formally notified Beijing of its intention to pull out of the program in December, sparking concerns among Italian companies about potential retaliation from China. Despite this, Meloni has emphasized Italy’s determination to maintain “mutually beneficial” relations with China.

Meloni’s visit comes amid global uncertainty and tensions between China and the West. The Italian premier has consistently viewed China with caution, accusing it of unfair trade practices and warning of the potential risks to Europe from over-dependence on Chinese companies in strategic supply chains. Meloni’s past criticism of China’s human rights record has also come under spotlight ahead of her visit. Watch to learn more about Meloni’s diplomatic push to stabilize China ties and the implications for global geopolitics.

  1. China will not force Italy to make money .
There are other countries that will .
Men go to work to feed their family's.
China does not bomb women and babies around the world for profits.
The USA, the land of zombies and tent cities.
Please god and help the good American citizens 🙏.

  2. The U.S. is the boss of these European countries like Italy. Aside from some trivial matters they can decide on themselves, any significant issues actually need U.S. approval. France is a bit better off, but right now, relations between China and the U.S. are pretty bad. Meloni can't really do much, but communication is always a good thing. We welcome beautiful ladies to visit.

  3. "China is behind all evils happenings in worldwide, China thinks only about their growth on the loose of other countries peace, stability and economic growth, otherwise you can ask America how Chinese use America against America
we can see Chinese footprints in destsblizing west, Asia and indo Pacific because China is very much over ambitious to be next super power in the world, so be very much careful from Chinese while doing business with them, there are big betrayal behind their smiles 🙂 "

  4. Say no to traitorous treacherous Italy. No. No. No. No need to be friends. Do not want to friends This is an enemy. Enemies are not friends. Make no mistake about this. Italy is not a friend. Italy is an enemy. In particular, of all Italiano, this Itie PM is a bad enemy. A vicious one. No relations should be established with her, her government, her party and her country. We do not deal with people who hate us and persecute us. We need to stand up against bullying now.

  5. Now assuming that things turns out very well later on.
But once Meloni lose in the next election, the new PM will use trade with China again as a bogeyman to topple her government, then terminate BRI again. Western democracy is horrible.

  6. After she was elected as PM of Italy. Didn't she has said China is not a important contributor to Italy economy and BRI is not important to Italy. So she has Italy withdraw from BRI.
But now she is coming to China not for one day but four days to beg from China. What a shameless woman?

  8. Meloni is being a humble woman, especially when someones apologizes for their mistakes and Chinese appreciate humble people, they didn't shut the door, they said Italy the door is still open. US is good only to dictate countries what they have to do, forcing their woke agenda everywhere in the world, but they don't add anything to the table, they have a huge poverty, inflation and debt, US and Israel as well mindest is outdated and imperialist, they think they are still in the 80's. Italy is the first, other EU countries will follow, and EU will distance from US because it's not an ally and most of people in EU are anti american after the Ukraine war, because obviously without the US there wouldn't be any war.

  10. Meloni simply changed the agreements of the previous prime minister that were too pro-Chinese…
Making agreements with Italy when Meloni is the leader is much more advantageous than making agreements with stupid leaders who sell themselves and then get kicked out after a few years.
