ROME – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hold news conference after talks in Rome.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer meets Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni in Rome on Monday to discuss tackling illegal immigration, a day after another Channel migrant shipwreck claimed eight lives.
Starmer, whose centre-left Labour Party was elected with a crushing parliamentary majority in July, has vowed to fight illegal immigration, a hot-button topic in British politics for years. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has said he is “interested” in learning about Italy’s scheme to send migrants rescued at sea to Albania to process their asylum claims, as he begins his first official visit to Rome.
The British leader is meeting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Monday. Top of the agenda will be migration and how the UK can learn from Italy – the European Union member receiving the highest number of migrant arrivals, but which has recently seen a dramatic fall.
Far-right riots shook cities and towns across England and Northern Ireland shortly after Starmer’s election, the UK’s worst unrest since 2011, with mosques and migrant accommodation centres often targeted.

So, Meloni is not Far Right today… If she supports Ukraine war.. Even Meloni knows She's talking to the Global Lieutenant of United States in Britain and she has to suck and keep putting a "united" front for Ukraine or else…She'll keep facing more pressure from America and more interference. She lashes out against France from time to time… because she has no guts to call out America.
She knows it very well people in Italy and largely Europe have no appetite for project Ukraine.
