President Meloni’s statement on assault on police officers

I express mine and the Government’s full solidarity with the police officers who were insulted and attacked today by self-styled “protesters” who use any excuse to vent their senseless violence. It is intolerable for dozens of officers to be injured during a street demonstration.
I wish to thank Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, the Chief of Police, and all the men and women who work every day to safeguard our security.
