Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has assured that the United States won’t forcefully take over Greenland under Donald Trump’s Presidency. Trump has stirred an international controversy after claiming that Greenland belongs to the US. This comes just days before his Presidential inauguration. Meloni claims that Trump’s comments are a message to China. Meloni had met with the US President-elect at his Florida residence last weekend. Meanwhile, replying to a media query this week, Trump refused to rule out the use of military or economic coercion in taking over Greenland. The Danish Kingdom had granted autonomy to Greenland in 1953, since when it has been a district of Denmark.
