Italy on June 8 voted to elect the members of the European Union’s next parliament, in a test of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s popularity in the key European Nation. The European Union’s 27 member nations, including France and Germany, are going to polls on June 9. Meloni cast her vote in the Rome constituency. The two-day ballot in Italy, the EU’s third largest economy with 76 of 720 seats in the new parliament could have bigger consequences.
