President Meloni’s telephone conversation with the President of the Lebanese Republic

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Lebanese Republic, Joseph Aoun, to whom she extended both her personal congratulations and those of the Italian Government for the election on 9 January.

The conversation provided an opportunity for President Meloni to reaffirm Italy’s commitment to the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel and to highlight the key role our nation continues to play through the work of Italian military personnel serving on the UNIFIL mission and on the bilateral MIBIL mission as well as through Italy’s leadership of the Military Technical Committee for Lebanon regarding coordination of international support for the Lebanese armed forces.
