President Meloni’s telephone conversation with US President Biden

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation with the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, during which she first of all expressed hers and the Italian Government’s feelings of solidarity following the terrible devastation caused by the fires in California.

During the call, President Meloni conveyed her deep thanks and appreciation to President Biden for the extraordinary cooperation in the context of exceptional bilateral relations and with regard to all international political issues, as was also confirmed during the Italian Presidency of the G7. In this regard, President Biden particularly highlighted the importance of the result achieved with the agreement to provide USD 50 billion in loans to Ukraine, backed by the profits stemming from immobilised Russian sovereign assets.
