Watch: Lebanon’s PM Confuses Italy’s Meloni With Aide | Subscribe to Firstpost

Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati seemed to have confused his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni with her assistant at the Beirut Rafic Hariri airport. In a video, Mikati was seen warmly greeting Meloni’s aide first and turned as if to walk her down the welcoming carpet. He appeared to have mistaken her for the Italian premier, who was still on the aeroplane. Mikati’s office did not immediately comment on the incident. Meloni reached Lebanon on March 27 on a two-day visit. During the visit, she met Mikati and Italian peacekeeping troops in southern Lebanon.
