President Meloni meets with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met today with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, at Palazzo Chigi.

The two leaders discussed their shared commitment to strengthening the already excellent bilateral relationship, by fully implementing the declaration of intent on trade collaboration between Italy and Norway. They agreed to work, in particular, on fostering industrial partnerships in strategic sectors such as energy, space and critical minerals, as well as on cooperation in the maritime sector and in the area of defence.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for an in-depth exchange of views on the main issues on the international agenda: trade, European security, support for Ukraine and transatlantic cooperation, as well as developments in the Mediterranean area and possible synergies in the context of the Mattei Plan.
