President Meloni’s statement on attacks against Italian UNIFIL headquarters

“It is with deep concern and indignation that I have learned the news of fresh attacks against the Italian UNIFIL headquarters in the south of Lebanon, which have also injured some of our military personnel serving on the peacekeeping mission. I wish to express both mine and the Government’s solidarity and closeness to the injured and their families, as well as sincere gratitude for the work the entire Italian contingent carries out in Lebanon on a daily basis.
I reaffirm once again that such attacks are unacceptable and renew my appeal for the parties on the ground to guarantee the safety of UNIFIL soldiers at all times and to collaborate in order to swiftly identify those responsible” stated the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni.
