President Meloni’s statement on Istat’s Italian agricultural growth figures for 2024

It is with great satisfaction that I welcome the figures published today by Istat [Italian National Institute of Statistics] regarding the growth of Italian agriculture in 2024. Out of the 27 EU Member States, Italy ranks as having the highest agricultural value added.

We are particularly proud of this historic achievement, which is the result of the hard work, dedication and determination of the companies and workers in this sector.

We are equally proud to have always played our part in achieving this goal. Ever since taking office, the Government has made agriculture a central focus once again, allocating record funding and adopting systemic policies to support and revitalise Italy’s agri-food sector and our products of excellence.

The path we have taken is the right one, and we will continue working in this direction.
