President Meloni’s telephone conversation with Chancellor Scholz

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the German Federal Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, ahead of the informal European Council meeting on European defence to be held on 3 February.

The call focused on how to develop Europe’s defence capabilities and strengthen the competitiveness of its defence industry.  
Possible ways to finance the required investments were also discussed.
