Mattei Plan: meeting between Microsoft President Smith, Terna CEO Di Foggia and Mattei Plan Task Force Coordinator Saggio on ‘Innovation Zone’ project in Tunisia

On the eve of the ‘The Mattei Plan for Africa and the Global Gateway: A common effort with the African Continent’ summit, to be co-chaired by the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, a video conference meeting was held today between the President of Microsoft, Brad Smith, the Chief Executive Officer and Director General of Terna, Giuseppina Di Foggia, and the Coordinator of the Task Force for Implementation of the Mattei Plan, Fabrizio Saggio.

The meeting highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships as part of the Mattei Plan to foster economic growth and development in Africa. Strong appreciation was also expressed for the cooperation between Microsoft, Terna and the Task Force for Implementation of the Mattei Plan in supporting the ‘Innovation Zone’ pilot project in Tunis, which will support training for young talents and start-ups in Tunisia in the field of technological innovation and artificial intelligence.
